Practice Areas & Background

Michael is a registered patent attorney with over twenty years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a variety of technology areas including software, digital and analog electronic circuits, telecommunications, network architecture, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cognitive computing, lighting, industrial control systems, semiconductor design and fabrication, social media, mechanical, and business method arts.

Prior to joining KLS, Michael has worked at several large national firms and boutique patent firms primarily focused on preparing and prosecuting patent applications for corporate clients.  Michael started his career in intellectual property as a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Michael received both his B.S. and M.E. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.  Michael received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
