Mr. Wolfsberger focuses his practice on patent portfolio development, primarily through the preparation and prosecution of patents.

Practice Areas & Background

Jon has extensive experience as a patent attorney and has worked for multiple large law firms. Jon prepared and prosecuted patent applications for a wide variety of technology areas, including computer hardware and software, artificial intelligence, mechanical systems, medical devices, and more. Jon also has experience in performing freedom to operate analysis, analyzing patent portfolios in connection with patent litigation, and conducting IP due diligence with respect to acquisitions. Jon also completed a secondment at Pure Storage, where he worked with the director of intellectual property to draft outside counsel guidelines, prepare claim charts, and helping to make invention filing decisions.

Prior to joining KLS, Jon served as the Chief Patent Counsel at Red Hat. In his role, Jon managed a patent program including over 3,500 patents and patent applications both in the United States and foreign jurisdictions. In his role, Jon managed all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution by outside counsel, made strategic filing decisions on invention disclosures, and analyzed the defense capabilities of the patent portfolio.

Jon received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron and his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
