Wesley Ferrebee – Senior Associate

Mr. Ferrebee’s practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, as well as patent portfolio management and intellectual property counseling.

Practice & Background

As a seasoned patent attorney, Wes has spent his career counseling a broad range of clients including individual inventors and startups to Fortune 500 companies.  Wes uses his extensive experience to identify and develop patent portfolio strategies specifically adapted to best suit the needs of each client.  

The primary focus of Mr. Ferrebee’s practice has been the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the electrical and computer arts including computer hardware and software, wireless telecommunications, mobile devices, consumer electronics, data storage devices, displays, System on a Chip design, networking protocols, and semiconductors, among many others. 

Prior to joining KLS, Mr. Ferrebee’s practice included significant and successful adversarial experience in litigation, settlement negotiations, enforcement, and post-grant proceedings, most recently defending a patent owner in an Inter Partes Review with a denial of institution as to all claims.  Wes also has extensive experience drafting letters of opinion as to validity, infringement, patentability, and freedom-to-operate. 

Wes received his B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and his J.D. from Georgia Mason University School of Law.
